Pat Fletcher often expressed the desire to establish a means of providing financial assistance to deserving young Canadian golfers to continue their education at the post secondary level. He wanted to return something to the game of golf that had enriched his life and career. As such, he was committed to establishing a charitable foundation which would be supported by persons and organizations interested in golf and education. The Pat Fletcher Scholarship Foundation was established in 1985 as a tribute to Pat Fletcher\'s many accomplishments. The Foundation began through the generous contributions and efforts of many people and is fulfilling its objectives. The objective of the Foundation is to provide educational scholarships at the post secondary level to Canadians who show ability as golfers. The first scholarship was awarded in 1988 and the Foundation continues to thrive. The Foundation is a non-profit, federally licensed organization duly accredited for income tax purposes.
